About

A baithak is just a sit-down. That's the whole idea.

I'm Samee. I grew up in Hyderabad, where the best conversations never happened on a stage — they happened sitting on the floor, cups of chai going cold, someone finally saying the thing they'd been carrying for years.

When I moved to Australia, I found the same conversations happening everywhere and almost nowhere at once. In kitchens after a double shift. In cars between deliveries. In shops that opened with borrowed money and a lot of nerve. People were living extraordinary stories and describing them like they were nothing.

Baithak started because those stories deserved a room. Not a highlight reel, not a success formula — the honest middle part. The visa that nearly didn't come through. The first month with no customers. The phone call home where you say everything is fine.

Every episode is one long, unhurried conversation with an entrepreneur, an international student, or a small business owner making a life here. I ask, then I get out of the way.

Because every conversation has a story — and most of them have never been asked for.
